The independent video game developer MOB Games from the United States created the survival horror video game Poppy Playtime and published it. The player assumes the role of a former worker for Playtime Company who returns to the defunct toy factory ten years after the factory's employees have vanished without a trace. The player moves through the game using a first-person perspective and is required to solve puzzles, some of which call for a tool known as the GrabPack, in order to advance while simultaneously avoiding a variety of foes. On October 12, 2021, the first chapter was made available on Steam for Microsoft Windows. Subsequently, on March 11, 2022, it was made available for Android and iOS. On May 5th, the second chapter was made available for download for Microsoft Windows, and it is anticipated that the third will become available in the beginning of 2023. After the first chapter, all subsequent chapters will be made available as downloadable content. After its initial release, the game quickly received positive reviews for its gameplay. However, these reviews changed after the developers announced that the game's tokens would not be fungible. The game's second chapter received mixed reviews for its buggy launch.
